One of my favourite wine shops on DNS (de north side) is in Clontarf. Unfortunately, I don’t get to visit as often as I’d like but when I do there’s always a great deal on.

And with the run up to the long weekend and Easter in a couple of weeks, here’s my pick of their bargains…

Giaconda Shiraz: was €60, down to €20. I haven’t tried their Shiraz but I have had the Pinot and Chardonnay – a rare chance to try a rare and highly rated Australian cult wine.

Shannon Pinot Noir: was €45, now €15. I’ve tried a few good Pinot’s from South Africa and this one ranks up there with Hamilton Russell.

These are my two top picks but there are plenty more. The Morande Pinot, Syrah and Chardonnay also look like they’re worth a punt at a tenner, down from €24.

You’ll find Kelly’s on the corner of Seafield Road and Vernon Avenue (see map).

Worth a trip, particularly this weekend.
