No one will be interested to hear that the oldest vines in France are in the Loire. Henri Marionnet of Domaine de la Charmoise makes a cuvee Provignage from Romarantin vines planted in 1850. Apparently the Queen of England is a big fan.

Tim’s Aberfeldy older than 100 yrs now and for intensity of fruit you cant beat it.

The aromas were unbelievably rich. I was tempted to take the straw to it, but I’ll just have to be happy with only ‘half’ a tasting of it.
