In this video tasting I pair up a Sauvignon Blanc from Touraine in the Loire Valley with a mouldy goats cheese called Sainte-Maure de Touraine.
The wine
The Domaine des Corbillieres is very similar in style to a good Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand’s Marlborough region.

Up the nose, plenty of passion fruit, citrus and cut grass with a hint of cat pee.
In the gob, zippy zesty passion fruit, pineapple and lime which finishes with a slightly minerally or chalky taste.
With cheese, please

Don’t let the appearance of this cheese put you off.
This goats cheese has an intense and rich creamy flavour, probably one of the best goats cheeses I’ve ever had and it pairs with the wine beautifully.
The acidity of the wine countering the salty cream flavours of the cheese. Delicious

That cheese is just wild isn’t it? Looks ferocious but is just smooth and good. Your into my current favorite wine region here. Ah shoot, I might have to go to the grocery store today after all. Not good looking at your site when it’s almost cocktail hour!
Thanks for dropping by, Kim. The summer weather has just arrived here in Dublin so I may need to stop off myself
