More Malbec from Cahors: Domaine Du Théron 2001

Saved in Red wine, Sour Grapes recommends, €10-€15
Domaine Du Théron, Cahors AOC, 2001

I picked the Domaine Du Théron up from Vaughan Johnson’s in Temple Bar for €14.95.
It’s made from 95% Malbec and 5% Merlot. It has a bigger sister (100% Malbec) selling for about €22.
So, here are three quick things to say about this one
- Beautifully balanced berry fruits
- Velvety smooth tannins
- A real pleasure to drink
Unlike the Clos Triguedina and the Clos de Gamot, this one is ready to drink now or over the next year or two.

I didn’t taste it but I have seen it in promotion last saturday at €12.50. I’ll check and probably buy it.
