The following are five wine books I reckon are a worth a read, all available on Amazon.

The World Atlas of Wine

I have the previous version of this one which is a little out of date but still has more than enough to keep you reading for years.

The Oxford Companion to Wine

This one’s on the shopping list, I’ve browsed it and left my grubby paw prints on it in quite a few book shops around Dublin. Jancis Robinson is probably the best writer out there.

Oz Clarke Pocket Wine Book 2008

I have the 2003 one, not readable from cover to cover but a good reference. Besides it’s dirt cheap at £3.99

The Juice 2008: 100 Wines You Should Be Drinking

Another one I’ve pawed whilst in different bookshops. The author, Matt Skinner, has worked with Jamie Oliver and has written no-bull “wine for the people” book, with great images, simple language and great wines.

The Science of Wine: From Vine to Glass

I recently did a review of “The Science of Wine” by Jamie Goode who also writes over at wineanorak.com
